What is The Independent English Wine Awards?
Launched in April 2016 and held annually, The IEWA is an indie wine competition whose reason for being is to award, promote and celebrate the best English wines in the world. The competition is based in Bristol and is the only one of its type.
How much does it cost to enter IEWA25?
Entry is £125.00 per wine (no VAT payable). If your wine is awarded a medal, the only other cost would be for optional medal stickers, at £30.00 per roll of 1000. All other materials, like the pro bottle photos and digital medal logos, are included.
When you say ‘independent’ what do you mean?
The IEWA is not owned by or affiliated to a larger company or organisation. That’s really important to the credibility of our comp. Objectivity is vital if any message is to be taken seriously. The IEWA is proudly free from conflict, compromise or influence.
Where should I send samples? How many are required?
Three samples of each wine entered should to be sent to our registered address at: The IEWA, c/o Mr Alexander Taylor, 2 Laurie Lee Court, Barrs Court, Bristol, BS30 7BG. And the deadline for samples to be safely with us is Friday 10th May (10.05).
Who is on The IEWA judging panel this year?
IEWA25 judging is overseen by Susy Atkins, and panel chairs have included Liam Steevenson MW, Holly Plumeridge, Anne Krebiehl MW and Lee Isaacs. The panel always has a really good mix - professionally very diverse; view it here.
What is the deadline for entering IEWA25?
Judging for IEWA25 will take place on Saturday 17th May (17/05), and the deadline for entering is Thursday 1st May (01/05). Then the deadline for getting samples to us is Friday 9th May (09/05). View all key dates here.
